Maya jaguar hieroglyphs
These Maya Hieroglyphs depict some of the features of a jaguar: its head, claws or paw, and tail. The ancient pictographs have an air of mystery, a sense of adventure, and you don't need to know the language to appreciate their artistry. These meticulously designed versions are from B'alam-a-rama, my prize-winning entry in The Iconfactory's Pixelpalooza 2003 icon design contest.
